The SharePoint Online Service provides a facility for institutions to create and to delete SharePoint Online sites, and to manage the permissions associated with the sites.

Easy creation of SharePoint Online sites, Right to create sites delegated to institutions, No administration of SharePoint servers.

The users with the right to create/delete sites are the members of the institutional IT administrators group in the Blue AD. Service intended for people who know how to manage a SharePoint Online site. Any authenticated user can be added to the access lists.

How Much Does It Cost?

How much does it cost? 

The service is included as part of the University’s Microsoft EES licence already paid for by the University and associated institutions. This service is therefore free of charge at point of use. 

How Do I Get This Service?

How do I get this service? 

Ordinary users should contact their institutional IT staff who will have the rights to create sites.

Institutional IT staff (e.g. for institution with identifier ABCD) should visit the URL which will present a button to initiate the site creation process.

How Quickly Can I Get This Service?

How quickly can I get this service? 

The service is immediately accessible to institutional IT staff. Site creation typically takes less than 60 seconds from completion of the site data entry.
