The ACN desktop service provides a desktop or laptop PC, associated peripheral devices and productivity software to members of the Unified Administrative Service. All provided hardware and software is managed and maintained by UIS, minimizing the administrative burden on users.

The desktop offering include the below features:

  • fully supported desktop environment
  • maintained and automatically updated operating system
  • antivirus software
  • Mailbox with 2GB quota and integrated calendar
  • dedicated 200MB home area for personal files (backed up to an alternate site)
  • user printing
  • range of default and additional software offeringsand Apps (MS-Office365 ProPlus; alternate web browsers)
  • optional Adobe PDF creation software upon request
  • other applications procured either by departments or through UIS can also be set up

How Much Does It Cost?

How much does it cost? 

UAS employees are entitled to a PC which is customarily refreshed every 5 - 7 years. If needed, PCs can be replaced more frequently and cross-charged to the requesting department.
