Videoconferencing Studio Service

Information For Users Of The Service Catalogue

This service offers the self-service* use of videoconferencing facilities on two sites (City and West Cambridge studios) for interviews, vivas, events, meetings and lectures

*UIS staff may be available for on-site support. If so this is charged at the usual UIS consultancy hourly rate.

How Much Does It Cost?

How much does it cost? 

 

  • Studio codec: £40 per hour

  • Studio  Skype/collaboration use: £25 per hour

Discounts available on multiple bookings (details from UIS Videoconferencing Service, videoconf@uis.cam.ac.uk or (01223 3) 35477.

There is no charge for UIS staff performing tests in UIS studios within Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Outside of those hours the staff charge (currently £72 per hour ex VAT) applies for tests.

If staff are required to be present at and manage your conference, then the same staff charge applies.

Incoming calls of all types and outgoing IP calls are free of charge.

Outgoing telephony calls are chargeable (rates vary according to destination country).

To use the service, please contact the UIS Videoconference Service team. Email is the preferred contact method as the videoconferencing staff are often out of the office and email also lends itself to better communication of technical details.

When is this service available? 

Self-service access is available at all hours and locations, including pre-arranged or ad hoc online and telephone support, but needs to be pre-booked during normal working hours* so that key access can be arranged.

The bookings calendar shows availability of the video conferencing facilities.
