Information For Users Of The Service Catalogue

The University IT Service Catalogue will be decommissioned in the Summer of 2021. This website is no longer being maintained.

The Telecoms Office Text Message Service allows either a person (via the My.Phone website), or a computer program (via an API) to send text (SMS) messages to UK mobile numbers. It is not currently possible to receive text messages via this service or to send to international destinations.

  • texts mobiles cost approximately only 4p+VAT each
  • system supports long text messages (459 characters)
  • no need to purchase credits or tokens in advance - billing is done in arrears
  • institutions using CUFS are billed automatically via CUFS
  • external institutions are billed monthly by UIS Telecoms
  • send same text to multiple numbers
  • use University Mobex short dial numbers rather than having to use only full mobile numbers
