Provided by the University Information Services (UIS) Institution Support Service (ISS), is a managed Active Directory service for institutions. ISS run the domain and provide account and password assistance.

  • allows for central and federated account and password control for the Federated Active Directory
  • UIS' Institution Support Service (ISS) can create accounts and passwords for supported institutions
  • IT officers at an institution using the service can access using Remote Desktop to create users and change passwords on their behalf
  • scripts for bulk creation of users and groups which are also available on

The service is free of charge for the end-user as it is the responsibility of the institution to purchase the required number of Client Access Licences (CAL) on either a user or device basis.

When is this service available? 

Once set up, the service, which is maintained by the user, is available 24/7, excluding announced downtime periods for maintenence, upgrades etc.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9am – 5pm
Wednesday: 10am – 5pm
Friday: 9am – 4.30pm
